I have a drawer full of knee sleeves that ended up around my ankle by lunch. This one is still where I put it at 7am. I turn the dial a little tighter before my shift and a click looser when I sit down. That's it.

The science behind knee sleeves
Researchers at the University of Salford asked 20 healthy, active adults to do three knee position tests, once with a knee sleeve and once without. With the sleeve on, they were more accurate in all three.

- 28%more accurate at tracking a moving knee anglep = 0.004
- 23%more accurate at reproducing a knee anglep = 0.029
- 27%more accurate at judging a knee anglep = 0.035

Built to stay on all day
- Turn the dial, done
- A thin cable runs along the side. Each click of the dial tightens the whole sleeve evenly, the same principle as ski and snowboard boots. Pull the dial up to release.
- It stays where you put it
- Side springs and a silicone ring around the kneecap keep it centered, so it does not end up around your ankle by lunch.
- Firm on the stairs
- Steady, even compression all the way around the joint. Your knee feels held going down the stairs and getting up from a low chair.
- Hides under work pants
- Thin, breathable knit. It sits flat under scrubs, jeans or slacks.
On in three moves
- 1Slide it on
Ring over the kneecap, dial on the outside of your leg.
- 2Turn the dial
Stop when it feels snug. It holds that setting while you walk.
- 3Pull to release
Pull the dial up to loosen it when you sit down.
Olniy vs a regular sleeve
| Feature | Regular sleeve | |
|---|---|---|
| Stays up through a full shift | ||
| Tightness you set with a dial | ||
| Silicone ring keeps it centered | ||
| No velcro straps to redo | ||
| Thin enough for work pants |
Size guide: pick your side and size
- Side. The dial sits on the outside of your leg. Left knee, choose Left. Right knee, choose Right.
- Measure. Standing, wrap a soft tape around your thigh 4 in (10 cm) above the top of your kneecap. Snug, not tight.
- Size. In between two sizes? Take the larger one. The dial lets you tighten it.
| Size | Thigh, 4 in above the kneecap |
|---|---|
| S | 12.6 to 14.2 in (32 to 36 cm) |
| M | 14.2 to 15.7 in (36 to 40 cm) |
| L | 15.7 to 17.3 in (40 to 44 cm) |
| XL | 17.3 to 18.9 in (44 to 48 cm) |
| XXL | 18.9 to 20.5 in (48 to 52 cm) |

Will it slide down when I walk?
It is built not to. Side springs keep its shape and a silicone ring holds it around the kneecap. If it still rolls down, it is usually one size too big: turn the dial a little tighter.
Is it backed by research?
Yes. In a University of Salford study, 20 healthy, active adults did three knee position tests with and without a knee sleeve. With the sleeve on, their accuracy improved by 23% to 28%.
Source: Herrington et al., Research in Sports Medicine, 2005. It is an independent study on a neoprene knee sleeve. The Olniy sleeve was not part of it.
Can I wear it through a full shift?
Yes, that is what it is made for. The knit breathes and it is thin enough for work pants or scrubs. Pull the dial up on your break to loosen it.
Which side should I order?
The dial sits on the outside of your leg. Left knee, choose Left. Right knee, choose Right. In a pack, you pick the side and size of each sleeve.
How do I find my size?
Standing, measure around your thigh 4 in (10 cm) above the top of your kneecap, then match it to the size chart. In between two sizes, take the larger one. Not sure? Email us your measurement at contact@olniy.com.
Is it a medical device?
No. It is a compression and support sleeve. If you have an injury or a medical condition, ask your doctor before wearing it.
When will it arrive?

CNA, 12 hour shifts. It fits under my scrub pants and nobody at work has noticed it. The stairs to the break room used to be the worst part of my day. Now they're just stairs.

My hands aren't what they used to be, so velcro straps were a fight every morning. The dial is easy. I sit on the edge of the bed, pull it up, turn, done.
Bought one for my right knee, came back for the left a week later. The silicone ring keeps it centered on the kneecap, it doesn't twist like my old one.

Retired, but I'm on my knees in the garden every morning. Wore it 4 hours pulling weeds, rinsed it in the sink, dry by dinner.

I was between sizes and emailed them. They answered the same day and told me to measure 4 inches above the kneecap. It fits right.
Took 12 days to get here, so order before you need it. The sleeve itself is great, I chased my grandson around the yard on Saturday and didn't think about my knee once.
Wife made me try hers before I bought my own. Mine is the XL, the dial gives a lot of range so you're not stuck with one tightness all day.

I work the register at a grocery store, 8 hours on concrete. Second week wearing it and I stopped leaning on the counter.

Does what it says, stays up. Took me two days to figure out how tight I like it. Wish the dial clicked a little louder.
Bought the 2 + 2 so I'd have a clean pair while the other one dries. Best decision, I wear one every single day.

Good sleeve but runs a little snug at the top for me. Ordered a size up and that one is fine. Read the size chart, measure above the knee like they say.
I walk 2 miles every morning with my wife. Old sleeve rolled down at the top every few blocks. This one hasn't moved.

Home health aide. Kneeling to help clients with their shoes was the part I dreaded. Still not fun, but my knee feels held now.

Comfortable and it doesn't show under my jeans. Took 11 days to arrive.
I'm 6'2 and 230, ordered the XL. Fits. Wore it fishing all Saturday, standing on the bank.
My granddaughter wanted me to sit on the floor and play. I did, and I got back up without holding the couch.
Breathable enough in the Louisiana heat, which surprised me. I take it off in the evening, it does get warm by then.
Ordered the wrong side, my mistake, the dial was on the inside. The exchange was easy but it took a while. Second one is good.
I've tried the cheap black ones from the pharmacy. Night and day. This one actually stays where the kneecap is.
Thirty one years as a hairdresser, all of it standing. I put it on in the car before I open the shop and forget about it until I'm home.
The dial is the whole point. My old one had two velcro straps and both were shot in a month. This one I tighten with one hand.
I clean houses, so I'm up and down off the floor all day. It hasn't slid down once. I didn't expect that.
Nice and light. I'd like a color besides white because white shows everything. Washes fine in the sink though.
Bought it for mowing and yard work. Wore it four hours Saturday in the heat. Didn't have to pull it up a single time.
Their size chart was right. I measured like the guide says, got a medium, and it fits. First time that's happened ordering online.
School cafeteria, on my feet from 6 to 2. It sits flat under my work pants and it doesn't itch by the end of the shift.
Good sleeve. Shipping was slow, 13 days to South Dakota. Once it showed up I had no complaints.
I wear it to church and to the grocery store. It doesn't bunch up behind the knee when I sit, which every other one did.
Warehouse job, lots of squatting down to the low racks. I snug the dial a little more for the afternoon. Simple.
Got the two pack so I can wash one. They air dry overnight on the shower rod.
It's fine. Stays up like they say. I just find the dial a bit bulky when I kneel straight on it, so I turn it to the side.
I'm 71 and I can get it on by myself. No wrestling with it. That matters more than people think.
Wore it through a whole day at the county fair with the grandkids. Still in place when I got back to the truck.
Read the side guide before you order. I almost picked the wrong one. Got the right side in a large and it's a good fit.
Hospital housekeeping. I've tried four different sleeves this year. This is the only one I haven't thrown back in the drawer.
Ordered one to see. Ordered three more the next week so both knees have a spare.
Thin enough for my slacks, and I can loosen it at my desk without taking anything off. Happy with it.
